What is the ImPACT Baseline Test?

ImPACT is a computerized test that assesses memory, reaction time and multitasking functions.

If an athlete sustains a concussion in season, the athletic trainers will retest you. They will then have both Baseline and post-concussion test scores to compare. Results are also reviewed by a state neuropsychologist who determines when the athlete's scores show they are ready to start returning to sport. Impact baseline testing is mandatory for all contact sports.

Who needs to take the ImPACT Baseline Test?

Students who WILL BE in 9th or 11th grade in the 24-25 school year and want to play any CONTACT sport at Kalaheo High School.

Students who WILL BE in 10th or 12th grade in the 24-25 school year and haven't taken the Impact baseline test at Kalaheo during the 23-24 year AND want to play a contact sport.

The contact sports are: Football, Volleyball, Cheerleading, Softball, Baseball, Basketball, Wrestling, Soccer, Judo, and Water Polo.

*****If you plan to participate in a WINTER/SPRING contact sport - we will run more testing sessions before each season, please sign up when those sessions are opened closer to your season start dates. Sign ups will be announced on the website, student school email, school newsletter, school announcements, and contact sport coaches.*****
