Impact baseline Testing July 27th

To all those interested in participating in Kalaheo Athletics,

There will be a MANDATORY Impact baseline testing for all 9th and 11th graders who will be participating in a CONTACT sport during the 2018-19 school year. Those who will be in 10th or 12th grade who are interested in participating in a CONTACT sport are also required to take this test.

What is Impact?
-ImPACT (Immediate Post-Concussion Assessment and Cognitive Testing) is a computerized brain injury measurement tool for children and teens who have sustained a traumatic brain injury (concussion). ... The first ImPACT test will provide a set of baseline results that can then be used to compare to post-injury results.

Which sports are considered "contact?"
-Fall sports:  Cheerleading, Football, Girls Volleyball,JV Softball
-Winter sports: Basketball, Soccer, Wrestling, JV Baseball
-Spring sports: Vars Baseball, Vars Softball, Boys Volleyball, Waterpolo

If you are unsure whether you will participate in a 'contact' sport, it is best that you take the Impact baseline test.  Those who are participating in non-contact sports only are also welcome to take the test.
