There are no office aides to take personal messages for students, except in extreme emergencies. Matters like employment, transportation, etc. should be taken care of before coming to school. Please use the courtyard door located by the Health Room to see your Counselor, a Vice-Principal, the Health Aide or School Safety Manager, do not go through the front office. THERE ARE NO STUDENT MONITORS TO DELIVER MESSAGES TO THE CLASSROOMS. Parents should call their children on the cell phones during recess and lunch and speak with them as needed. That is one of the primary reasons cell phone use was allowed on campus during non-instructional time. A school bell schedule was included in the start of the year packet to provide parents with the appropriate times to contact their children. </DIV> <DIV>&nbsp;</DIV> <DIV></DIV> <DIV><STRONG><U>COUNSELORS:</U></STRONG> are available to students without passes during mid-morning recess, lunch and after school. A phone number for office verification should be included. This written statement must be presented to the Attendance Clerk in H- Building courtyard window from 7:30 &#8211; 7:55 a.m. or during recess only. A Kalaheo H.S. ID card is required. </DIV> <DIV></DIV> <DIV>If a student is tardy during the first 15 minutes of the class period they must report to the Cafeteria to receive a tardy pass. If a student is tardy after the first 15 minutes of the class period the student must report to the Office to receive a tardy pass. Without that pass the student will not be let into class. If it is an excused tardy, he/she has four days to submit a dated and signed written statement from a parent or guardian which specifies the reason for tardy to the attendance window. </DIV> <DIV></DIV> <DIV>A student who participates in school sponsored activities (e.g. Field trips, athletic events, ROTC, A.S.K. events, etc.) will not be penalized for absences or tardies as a result of participation in these activities provided the student has legitimate authorization. </DIV> <DIV>&nbsp;</DIV> <DIV></DIV> <DIV><STRONG><U>OFF &#8211; CAMPUS PASSES:</U></STRONG> are issued to students who bring a note from their parent/guardian stating date, time, reason, phone number of parent or guardian and signature. Passes are available from 7:30 &#8211; 7:55 a.m. and during recess at the H- Building courtyard window. </DIV> <DIV>&nbsp;</DIV> <DIV></DIV> <DIV><STRONG><U>BUS APPLICATION:</U></STRONG> Students are eligible to ride the school bus if they reside 1.5 miles or more from student&#8217;s school. Please come by the front office to pick up an application. You must have an application to ride the bus. If you live on Marine Corp. Base Hawaii, call Robert&#8217;s School Bus at 832-4886 for detailed information of routes. School bus transportation for part of Aikahi Park, Kaimalino or Kaneohe Bay Drive is provided by Gomes Bus at 239-6755. </DIV> <DIV>&nbsp;</DIV> <DIV></DIV> <DIV><STRONG><U>DRESS CODE:</U></STRONG> Students will come to school clean and well groomed in appropriate clothing to promote a positive learning environment. If in doubt about whether the item of clothing is appropriate, choose on the side of common sense and do not wear that item to school. Administrators and faculty will refer any dress that is deemed inappropriate to the Health Room to change into a DCV (Dress Code Violation) t-shirt based on the following guidelines: </DIV> <DIV>1. All tops must have attached shoulder straps. Tube or bustier tops are prohibited. </DIV> <DIV>2. Cleavage, chest, back and midriff must be completely covered with clothing. Excessive exposure of these areas of the body is prohibited. Males must wear their shirts at all times. Low-cut, transparent or cut-out clothing are prohibited. </DIV> <DIV>3. Shorts, skirts and dresses must be at mid-thigh fingertip length. Exposure of the buttock region and underwear is prohibited. </DIV> <DIV>4. All clothing must have neutral or positive messages. Articles of clothing, jewelry and accessories that contain any reference to negative social issues: drugs, sex, profanity, pornography, weapons and gangs are prohibited. </DIV> <DIV>5. Underwear is not permitted as outerwear. Tank-top undershirts or boxer shorts are prohibited as outerwear. </DIV> <DIV>6. Footwear must be worn at all times. Students must adhere to classroom lab policy and P.E. policy for safe footwear. </DIV> <DIV></DIV> <DIV>If the student refuses to change into a DCV t-shirt or obtain acceptable clothing the child will be sent home and a referral will be submitted to Administration and further action will be taken. </DIV> <DIV></DIV> <DIV>&nbsp;</DIV> <DIV><STRONG><U>LOCKERS:</U>&nbsp;&nbsp;</STRONG>Lockers are available in A-building, D-Building, and H-Building. Please go to the Student Activities Center at C102 to pick up a locker form. No ID, no meal, no exceptions. Staff and students may not borrow another person&#8217;s ID card or number. Deposits are accepted in the morning, at the cafeteria from 7:30 &#8211; 7:50 a.m. and in the drop box in the H-Building courtyard. <EM>Starting, Tuesday, November 1- Deposits will be credited to your account on the same day, only if, submitted before 11 a.m. Deposits made after 11 a.m. will be credited the next day.</EM>Students are encouraged to keep a running balance of $5.00 and staff $20.00. 						<description><![CDATA[Seniors of the Class of 2012!<br><br>Expressions Photography at Ward Warehouse is your yearbook photographer.  <br>All seniors will need to go down to the studio to have their photos taken for the yearbook from June 1 to Sept. 10, 2010.  If you take your portrait after that, your portrait is not guaranteed to be included in the yearbook. <br><br><br>The price for the photo session will be:<br><br>Regular Sitting Fee: $36.60 tax included (all boys and girls who don’t get makeup done)<br>OR, Makeup Sitting Fee: $68.06 tax included (option for girls)<br><br>Please note that girls who choose to have their makeup done only pay the Makeup Sitting Fee, NOT both the Regular and Makeup Sitting Fee.<br><br>School dress code will be enforced for the yearbook portrait.  Each student will be allowed one clothing look and will get multiple shots.  Don’t forget to bring in props (sporting equipment, musical instruments, surf boards, etc.) to personalize the session.  No animals, other people or any inappropriate messages or gestures will be allowed in the yearbook.  Check with Mrs. Shaffer at Kalaheo if you’re not sure if something will be allowed. <br><br>The photos will be available to view immediately after the session, and you will get to choose which one appears in the yearbook.  If you aren’t satisfied with your pictures, you may re-shoot immediately at no extra cost.  Everyone is guaranteed to have a photo they are happy with!<br><br>In addition, Expressions Photography is offering special prices on their Senior Portrait Packages exclusively for Kalaheo High School when students take their senior portraits along with their yearbook photo.  If students take their senior portraits at the same time, they will not have to pay a sitting fee, because it is included in all Senior Portrait Packages.  You will also be allowed extra clothing changes and poses if you are taking your senior portraits.
